The 2025 presidential election could be a turning point for Cameroon—but only if every Cameroonian, at home and abroad, steps up to demand a vote and help secure an outcome that truly reflects the people’s will. For decades, the dream of real democracy, self determination and prosperity has been dashed by a system that fears transparency. This year, we have a chance to change that story, but it won’t happen by accident.
If you are part of the Cameroonian diaspora or friend of Cameroon, you hold a unique power. You have resources, networks, and access to global media. Here’s how you can make the difference:
Mobilize Funds, Mobilize Fast:
Every dollar counts. Raising money now means we can train polling agents, deploy election monitors, and build the infrastructure needed to track and report irregularities in real time. Don’t wait—contribute, organize fundraisers, and spread the word in your circles.
Support Real Journalism:
Journalists are the eyes and ears of the public. Sponsor training, equipment, and security for reporters willing to cover the stories that matter—from voter intimidation to the real issues facing Cameroonians. Challenge media houses to give all candidates, including the incumbent, fair visibility. Push for the sharing of facts, statistics, and real-time updates as the votes are counted. The truth must be visible, and journalists need your backing to shine that light.
Leverage the Media:
Use every platform you have—traditional, digital, and social—to shine a light on what’s happening. Stories, videos, and firsthand accounts can be powerful tools to expose abuses, inspire action and keep the world watching. The more visibility, the more pressure on those who want to steal the people’s voice.
Train and Equip Polling Agents:
Well-trained, vigilant polling agents can make fraud harder and provide credible evidence when things go wrong. Help fund and organize workshops, supply needed materials, and connect with organizations already on the ground.
Use Technology for Transparency:
Apps, hotlines, and real-time reporting tools can track election results and flag problems as they happen. Help invest in and promote these tools, and make sure local teams know how to use them.
The clock is ticking. If everyone including the diaspora moves as one—focused, urgent, and united—there’s a real chance to make history. Cameroon deserves nothing less than a government chosen by its people. Let us make sure the world sees it happen.
